Who Should Not Take Rosiglitazone and Glimepiride?

You should not take this drug if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Avandaryl, rosiglitazone maleate (Avandia), glimepiride (Amaryl), or any inactive component used to make rosiglitazone and glimepiride. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients used to make rosiglitazone and glimepiride.
     
  • Have diabetic ketoacidosis (a life-threatening condition that may occur with uncontrolled diabetes). This condition needs to be treated with insulin.
