Interactions With Repaglinide Explained
The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when
repaglinide is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Atazanavir
Taking repaglinide with
atazanavir can greatly increase the level of repaglinide in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects (especially dangerously low blood sugar). Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these two medications together.
Beta Blockers
Combining repaglinide with beta blockers can increase your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). You may need to be monitored more closely, and your healthcare provider may need to adjust your repaglinide dose, especially when starting or stopping a beta blocker.
Certain Antibiotics or Antifungals
If repaglinide is taken with certain antibiotics or antifungals, this can increase the level of repaglinide in your blood, which may increase your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to lower your dose of repaglinide while you are taking antibiotics or antifungals.
Delavirdine
If repaglinide and
delavirdine are combined, this can increase the level of repaglinide in your blood, potentially increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your dose of repaglinide if you are taking these two medications together.
Diclofenac
Taking repaglinide and diclofenac together can increase the level of repaglinide in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your dose of repaglinide if you are taking these two medications together.
Gemfibrozil
If repaglinide is taken with
gemfibrozil, this can greatly increase the level of repaglinide in your blood, which may increase your risk of side effects. In general, these two medications should not be taken together.
