Drug Interactions With Pramlintide

As with any medication, there are potential drug interactions with pramlintide. Taking pramlintide with other medications, such as pain medications, Precose, or anticholinergic medications, can lead to problems. Some drug interactions with pramlintide can increase your risk of side effects of the digestive tract.

 

An Overview of Drug Interactions With Pramlintide

Pramlintide acetate (Symlin®) can potentially interact with several medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to pramlintide interactions include:
 
  • Acarbose (Precose®)
  • Miglitol (Glyset®)
  • Pain medications
  • Anticholinergic medications, including:
o Atropine
o Belladonna (Donnatal®, B&O Supprettes®, Bellamine S)
o Clidinium (Librax®)
o Dicyclomine (Bentyl®)
o Diphenhydramine (Benadryl®, Tylenol PM®)
o Glycopyrrolate (Robinul®)
o Homatropine (Hycodan®)
o Hyoscyamine (Levsin®)
o Scopolamine (Transderm Scop®)
