A combination product, Janumet® (sitagliptin and metformin) is a prescription medication used to control blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It is generally used when blood sugar cannot be adequately controlled by using sitagliptin or metformin alone.
This medication comes in the form of a tablet. It should be taken twice a day, with food, and at the same times each day. Prior to beginning treatment with Janumet, inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including supplements and nonprescription drugs. You should also be aware of possible side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting.
