Linagliptin

Linagliptin and Blood Sugar Levels
In studies, linagliptin lowered fasting blood sugar levels by 8.5 mg/dL on average. Linagliptin also lowered 2-hour postprandial blood sugar levels (blood sugar levels 2 hours after a meal) by 33.5 mg/dL on average.
 

When and How to Take Linagliptin

Some general considerations to keep in mind during treatment with linagliptin include the following:
 
  • Linagliptin comes in tablet form. It is taken by mouth once a day.
  • Linagliptin can be taken with or without food.
  • It does not matter what time of day you take linagliptin; however, try to take it at the same time every day.
  • For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed.
