Hyperthyrodism

Were you looking for information about Hyperthyroidism? Hyperthyrodism is a common misspelling of hyperthyroidism.

Hyperthyroidism is a type of thyroid condition that is also called overactive thyroid. The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that is about two inches in length. It is located in the front of the neck below the larynx (voice box) and above the clavicles (collarbones). With an overactive thyroid, the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone.

Common signs and symptoms of this condition include fatigue, goiter, anxiety, and weight loss. However, not everyone who has hyperthyroidism will have symptoms, and in some cases, the condition can be misdiagnosed as depression or even dementia.
