Glyburide and MetforminA healthcare provider may prescribe glyburide and metformin to help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Glyburide and metformin works by helping the pancreas produce more insulin and helping decrease the amount of sugar absorbed by the body. Among the conditions you should let your healthcare provider know about prior to taking glyburide and metformin are kidney or liver problems, as well as any allergies you may have. Diarrhea, low blood sugar, and upper respiratory tract infections are a few common side effects of this drug.
