Glucophage XR Storage Methods

Glucophage XR should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture or heat. Glucophage XR tablets should be kept in an airtight container.
 
Keep Glucophage XR and all medications out of the reach of children.
 

Glucophage XR: What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you do not take your meformin ER as scheduled, take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose of Glucophage XR.
 

Glucophage XR Strengths

Glucophage XR is available in two strengths:
 
  • Glucophage XR 500 mg tablets.
  • Glucophage XR 750 mg tablets.
     
Fortamet (another brand of long-acting Glucophage) is available in the following strengths:
 
  • Fortamet 500 mg tablets
  • Fortamet 1000 mg tablets.
     
Glumetza (yet another brand of long-acting Glucophage) is available in the following strengths:
 
  • Glumetza 500 mg tablets
  • Glumetza 1000 mg tablets.
     

Generic Glucophage XR

Both brand-name and generic Glucophage XR are currently licensed for sale. However, generic versions of Fortamet and Glumetza are not licensed for sale at this time.
