What If I Overdose on the Medication?People who take too much Glucophage XR may have overdose symptoms that could include:
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) (see Metformin and Blood Sugar)
- Lactic acidosis (see Metformin and Lactic Acidosis)
- Fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
- Muscle pain
- Trouble breathing
- Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
- Feeling cold
- Slow or irregular heartbeat.

Storage MethodsGlucophage XR should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture or heat. The tablets should be kept in an airtight container.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?If you do not take your Glucophage XR as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.
