GlucaGen

If you have diabetes and are prone to low blood sugar, it's important to have a glucagon kit such as GlucaGen with you at all times. This potentially lifesaving drug works in the liver to increase blood sugar. It is typically injected just under the skin. After being given this medication, a person will usually wake up within 15 minutes.

What Is GlucaGen?

GlucaGen® is a brand-name form of glucagon, which is a hormone that the body uses to help control blood sugar levels. Because it can rapidly raise blood sugar, GlucaGen is used as a treatment for severe low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). It is also used in certain diagnostic tests.
