Some of the most common side effects of glipizide and metformin (Metaglip®) include diarrhea, headaches, and upper respiratory tract infections (like the common cold). In many cases, these side effects are minor and easily treated. However, if you develop any serious side effects, such as symptoms of low or high blood sugar, signs of lactic acidosis, or chest pain, contact your healthcare provider.
