Who Should Not Take Glimepiride?

You should not take glimepiride if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Amaryl, glimepiride, or any inactive component used to make glimepiride. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients used to make glimepiride.
     
  • Have diabetic ketoacidosis (a life-threatening condition that may occur with uncontrolled diabetes). This condition needs to be treated with insulin.
