Linagliptin/Metformin Drug Information

Adults with type 2 diabetes may receive linagliptin/metformin (JentaduetoTM) to help control blood sugar levels. This prescription combination medication comes as a tablet that is taken twice daily.
 
Although it may be an effective medication, not everyone can use this drug. Information on linagliptin/metformin should be reviewed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment to help minimize potential complications. For instance, some people may have an increased risk for developing lactic acidosis or low blood sugar levels while using this drug.
 
While most people do not experience any problems with linagliptin/metformin, some people may develop some type of side effect, such as diarrhea, a sore throat, or a runny or stuffy nose.
