The dose of canagliflozin your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
- How well your diabetes is controlled
- Other medical conditions you may have (especially kidney disease)
- Other medications you are taking.
As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

It is unknown what to expect from an overdose of this medication. If you happen to overdose on canagliflozin, seek immediate medical attention.

Canagliflozin should be stored at room temperature. Make sure to keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets.
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for the next dose. In this case, simply skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.
