Armour Thyroid Drug Interactions
Several medications could cause negative interactions with Armour Thyroid. Drug interactions may occur if Armour Thyroid is taken with antacids or gas-relieving medicines, calcium supplements, theophylline, or certain seizure medications. These Armour Thyroid drug interactions can prevent the thyroid drug from being absorbed into the digestive tract, so it is important to take these medicines at least a few hours apart.

Armour® Thyroid (thyroid USP) may interact with several other medications, including non-prescription products. Some of the medicines that may potentially lead to Armour Thyroid drug interactions include:
- Cholestyramine (Prevalite®, Questran®, Questran® Light)
- Colestipol (Colestid®)
- Diabetes medications
- Estrogens, such as birth control pills, patches, rings, or hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
- Theophylline (Uniphyl®, Theocron®, TheoCap®, Theo-24®, Elixophyllin®)
- Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
